IT Mark standard is based on the CMMI (Quality Assurance and Software Process Improvement), ISO17799/ISO27001 standards and 10sqared business assessment method.

CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) is implementation of the CMM methodology developed by the Carnegie Mellon University, USA. 

ISO17799/ISO27001 standards include code of practice and specification/guidance for IT security management.
