Web Portal, Macedonian Association for Information Technology (MASIT)

The MASIT project consists of two parts: developing a web solution for supporting the activities of MASIT, and as a specific subcategory of MASIT’s projects and activities, design and development of a solution supporting the project Idealist7fp, FP6 EU IST project The first project – a solution for supporting and promoting MASIT and its activities conducted in several stages. During the business analysis of project’s goals and scope, a need for a second solution was identified – for upporting the Idealist7fp, FP6 EU IST project. Main objective of the project is helping IST experts and IT organizations in participating EU IST programs, including partner search for consortiums, preparing good proposals, organizing workshops and InfoDays on active calls, delivering idealist partner search leads etc. The project consortium consists of 50 consortium partners, including EU, West Balkan, New Independent States and Mediterranean countries.

The solutions were developed separately however the second as a subcategory of the main project. The designed solutions were presented to the stakeholder and upon approval; the concepts were developed into fully functional solutions. The systems were tested and launched, and the users were trained for content and document management, portal and database administration.

Implemented functionalities and modules: Data entry and Content/Document management system,Database engine, Application Server, Data and Application integration, News, Newsletter, Event Management, ID Management. The system enables the users to pdate and maintain the content and documents on the Web Portal organized in different metadata categories. The Portal was designed according the modern web design and technologies, including XML/XSLT, Web Services etc.

Web Portal, Macedonian Automotive Cluster (AMC/GIZ)

The main objective of the project was development and promotion of the Macedonian Automotive Cluster. The project stages included analysis of the Cluster’s goals and identifying stakeholder needs. The target stakeholders consist of the existing and potential business partners, cluster members, other companies operating in automotive suppliers industry, other relevant stakeholders and the general public. After identifying the target audience, main processes and functionalities, Gord Systems designed an information infrastructure which will promote and support the clusters aims and needs. This was the basis for designing the portal and integrated functionalities. The new solution was launched after detailed testing of all the modules and processes. The Cluster’s members were then trained by Gord Systems’ team for content and document management and portal administration.

The current system serves for:
- Presentation of the capacities of the domestic automotive suppliers industry, targeting potential
business partners abroad
- Establishing a communications platform for all interested parties (existing and potential cluster members, interested foreign companies etc.) in the automotive industry
- Creating awareness for the quality of services in the automotive suppliers industry in Macedonia
- Creating value added partnerships, common business opportunities.

Implemented functionalities: Web Designer, CMS/DMS, Registered Users database, Newsletter subscription, Data and Application integration module and an ID Management system which allows user and group management, depending on their responsibilities and granted property rights.

The solution is based on Joomla CMS, on Linux platform.

Web Portal, Trade Textile Association of Macedonia (TTA/GIZ)

The main objective of the project was to design (visually and conceptually) and develop a solution for presentation and promotion of the TTA Textile Cluster.
The target audience includes the existing and potential business partners, cluster members, other companies operating in textile and clothing industry, other relevant stakeholders and the general public.
The project was conducted in several stages: business process design of main activities and processes required to fulfill the project goals, designing a solution according to the conducted analysis and conclusions, development of a web solution with integrated application modules and database, testing of the integrated system, live launch, troubleshooting and technical maintenance, training for administrators and users.

The system serves as:
- Presentation of the capacities of the domestic textile and clothing industry, targeting potential business partners abroad
- A means for establishing a communications platform for all interested parties (existing and potential cluster members, interested foreign companies etc.) in the field of textile and clothing industry
- A means for creating awareness for the quality of services in the textile and clothing industry in Macedonia
- A means for creating value added partnerships, common business opportunities

Web Portal, National network of NGOs against violence over Women and Domestic Violence

The portal supports the recently established national network of NGOs active in prevention of violence against women as well as domestic violence. This enhances the overall transparency of the work of the CSO dealing with Domestic Violence (DV) and Gender Based Violence and enables efficient information sharing with other involved stakeholders, relevant Ministries, public institutions, as well as the broad public.

The network’s mission is establishing coordinated actions of civil organizations in order to improve the policies and practices for dealing with the problem of violence against women and domestic violence. The network aims at recognizing women's human rights and their promotion in Macedonia.

Specific tasks of the project:
- Process analysis and identification of user needs and requirements
- Design and implementation of an appropriate content management architecture for the bi-lingual web portal;
- Design and consultancy about the information architecture of the portal;
- Training and consultation to CSO Network representatives to enable them to efficiently operate, update and manage the web site;
- Website management and services for updating/uploading contents and implementation of new functionalities.

Aims of the portal:
- Information about the work of the CSO Network;
- Up-to-date information on on-going Network initiative and activities;
- Promoting the awareness rising regarding the domestic violence issues, and gender-based violence in general;
- A repository for relevant strategic documents, manuals, publications, newsletter;
- A forum for answering questions and communication with the public;
- An educational facility for the interested audience;
- An internal coordination tool for the Network members i.e. contain separate section accessible to members only.

Implemented functionalities: fully functional design, editing interface, content and document management, database of publications/documents, photo gallery, links, news, membership options, full text advanced search, RSS feeds, mailing unction, sharing function, embedded videos.

Web Portal, Inter Municipal Collaboration (IMC/UNDP)

The objective of the project is to contribute to the development of IMC (Inter Municipal Collaboration) in Macedonia in support of the achievement of one of the main objectives of decentralization i.e. the efficient provision of affordable and quality public services to citizens and to ensure the institutional and professional capacities needed.

The overall strategy of the project is to create the necessary human and institutional capacities for implementation of IMC and develop financial scheme that will enable implementation of IMC on a national scale.

The project was executed in several stages. Firstly, the business process analysis stage took place. Gord Systems conducted a thorough business process analysis thus identifying the stakeholder and project needs and goals. Based on the analysis, Gord designed an initial web portal design and several integrated application solutions in order to achieve the established goals. The solutions included a knowledge database, database of IMC practices, Trainee database, a functional user-friendly design incorporated with various modules (event management, news management, forum, gallery etc. The databases are designed to be accessed and searched with an integrated interface through the portal. This was actually developed in the next stage. Afterwards the applications and portal were tested and documented, and a presentation was made for the stakeholders. Before the portal launch, Gord Systems’ specialists performed trainings for the different users of the new systems (administrators, instructors, content managers). After the launch, Gord Systems provided troubleshooting, web management services and
technical maintenance.

Implemented functionalities: Web Design, CMS/DMS, Registered Users database, Forum, Newsletter subscription, Data and Application integration module (Knowledge Base, IMC Practices Database, and Trainee Database).
The ID Management system allows user and group management, depending on their responsibilities and granted property rights.

Web Portal, Support to Women and Men Equal Opportunities Commissions at Local Government Units (EOC/UNDP)

The project aims to strengthen the capacities of the Local Government Equal Opportunities Commissions (EOC) and Coordinators as a key element contributing to the gender equality policy at the local level.
By providing technical assistance and training to the gender machinery at the local level the project will support further clarification and implementation of their mandates; enhance their capacity and authority for efficient and effective coordination of gender equality policies and improve understanding and implementation of the concept of gender equality and of the gender mainstreaming in local policy development.
The project included a business process analysis in order to identify the stakeholder needs and required functionalities of the new system; design and testing of new functionalities and portal design; setting up a platform for development and mplementation of the required modules; database and application design, development, integration and testing; portal launch, troubleshooting and technical maintenance and training of users and administrators.

Web portal, of the elementary school „УИЛЯМ САРОЯН”

The aim of the project is support of the overall communication of all relevant stakeholders involved in the everyday ctivities of the elementary school (teachers, parents, students). Besides improving the level of communication between teachers, teachers and students, and parents and teachers as well, the project aims to promote the school in Bulgaria and the region.

The project included process analysis and designing an information structure most suitable to the needs of the teachers, parents and students; services for design and implementation of functionalities to support the aims of the project; web management services for uploading and updating content, troubleshooting and technical maintenance; training and compiling user guides for administrators, teachers, parents and students.

Web Portal, Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF)

Good management practices are of paramount importance to a competitive Macedonian economy. This requires high quality management consulting and training services. In order to stimulate such services, a Human Resources Development Fund for Enterprises (HRDF) is established as a nation-wide platform active in promoting quality Executive Management Training and Management Consulting.

HRDF acts as the focal point in the country for mobilizing resources to support the implementation of an effective executive management development. It supports companies to improve their competitiveness by developing and implementing learning programmes based on modern management tools and techniques, and raises awareness among companies on the strategic role and impact of management training. Provides a platform for exchange of experience, promotion of best practices and networking among local companies.


In order to fulfill the project goals, Gord Systems conducted a business process analysis thus identifying the organization’s needs and processes that are needed to support the project. Based on the analysis, Gord designed a web solution consisting of a Multilanguage portal with an integrated trainer database and appplication modules which fulfill the project requirements. After the solution was designed, the concept was presented to the project stakeholders. After approval, the solution was developed, tested and launched. Simultaneously, the users were trained regarding database administration, document and content management, and portal administration. After the launch, the last stage consisted of troubleshooting and technical maintenance.


Implemented functionalities: Web Designer, Content/Document management system, Database, and the Data and Application integration modules. The system enables the entitled users to update, maintain and search through the training content and documents organized in metadata categories. The ID Management system allows fine user and group management, depending on their responsibilities and granted property rights.

Web Portal, National Commission for combat against illegal migration and trafficking

This national body was established by the Government to foster the combat against illegal migrating and trafficking in Macedonia and the region.

The mission of the National Commission is to monitor and analyse the status of the illegal migration and trafficking in the country and coordinates the activities of the responsible governmental institutions, international organizations and NGO’s involved in finding solution for the problem.


The project included defining an entirely new concept for supporting the Commission’s mission and goals with the web portal. The Commission’s representatives and Gord Systems’ specialists developed an architecture divided into categories and  subcategories suitable to different audience needs with a userfriendly design of the multilingual portal. Gord Systems’ specialists provided the business process analysis, consultant and web management services regarding organizing, upload and updating relevant information, setting up a document management system, multimedia functionalities, event calendar, and news and newsletter management. Afterwards, Gord Systems executed trainings about content management, portal administration and troubleshooting. Another service provided was technical maintenance after the portal launch.

Web Portal, RZII – Republic Agency for Information Technology and Internet, Republic of Serbia

The Republic Information Technology and Internet Agency (RZII) is a special professional organization of the Republic of Serbia in charge of the development and introduction of e-Government. The scope of activities of the Agency involves providing support for the reform of the public administration, and its implementation in accordance with the principle of modernization, application of state-of-the-art achievements in the field of system engineering, information and communication technologies. The Agency has responsibilities in the field of application of information and communication technologies in public authorities, self-government bodies and public services, regulated by laws and other regulations.

This is the official Agency’s Web Portal. It consists of several modules: Data entry and Content/Document management system, Database engine, Application Server, Data and Application integration. The system enables the users to update and maintain the content and documents on the Web Portal organized in different metadata categories. The Portal was designed according the modern web design and technologies, including XML/XSLT, Web Services etc.

Web Portal, Municipality Kazanlak, Bulgaria

JICA project (Japanese agency for development), supporting the development of the Bulgarian municipality Kazanlak. It is a Multiportal design, includes Web portal designer, Content and Document management modules. The system enables the users to update and maintain the content and documents on the Web Portal organized in different metadata categories. The web portal was designed according the modern web technologies.

Based on GORD Systems MyWebPortal, on Microsoft Windows Server/SQL Server.

Web Portal, City of Bitola Web Portal

The project’s main goal was supporting the activities of the City and Municipality Bitola, promoting the organization, stablishing a direct communication tool and services for the citizens of Bitola and all accompanying partners.

The project was executed in several stages. Firstly Gord and the representatives from Municipality Bitola established the project scope and defined the project goals, constraints, milestones and deliverables.
Afterwards Gord executed a detailed process analysis and identified the process needs which will result with various functionalities in the new system. Based on the analysis and project scope, Gord designed a solution which encompassed a web portal serving as an intranet as well, with integrated database and application modules. A presentation of the concept model was made. After the stakeholders approved the designed concept, Gord developed the solution and set it on a platform which enabled continous communication and promotion of all the activities. The solution was tested and launched, and the Municipality’s employees were trained by Gord Systems’ team for content and document management and portal and database administration. The last stage of the project included continuous technical support services and troubleshooting by Gord Systems’ technical support team.

Main task of the Web Site is presentation and management of the content by the people that work on the project, the consultants. It includes data entry and management system for the content, Database engine, Application Server, Portal. The system enables the users to update and maintain the content of the Web Site very easily. The Site was designed according the existing modern web solutions, including SSL, Digital Certificate, Search machine, Portal etc.

Based on Oracle web technology (Portal, Application Server, Oracle 9i), as well PERL/MySQL. Deployment may be locally or as a hosting Web Site.

Web solution, Your Digital Photo, e-commerce project, Florida/USA

The Web Site covers the management and sales of digital photos taken by other people (photo agents). Except the part for the customers, the web also includes a part for the agents (business to business module), where agents can upload the information for their products (photos) as well as the images themselves, check their sales and state of account. The site is designed according the up to date technology for e-commerce solutions, including SSL and Digital Certificate, Credit Card Support, product browsing, search machine etc.

Based on Open Source (PERL, PHP, MySQL); deployed as a hosting Web Site for a USA company.

Multimedia CBT (learning) CD, NNIDTP (NovoNordisk Interactive Diabetes Training Program)

The project is about design of educational multimedia CD medium intended for the medical staff at the healthcare organizations in Macedonia. The topic is the diabetes diseases, how to protect the population, approach and treatments, suggestions for long normal life, allowed food ingredients, activities, etc.

The medium includes several hundred of Slides, Pages, Images, diagrams. Search engine help searching through the content using key words or categories. There are additional build in modules like, Questionnaires and Knowledge testing options. Customer: NovoNordisk AS, representative office in Macedonia.

Portal Designer, DMS/CMS, Data and Application integration platform - Product presentation medium

The purpose of this Web/CD medium is presentation of the features of the myWebPortal Portal & Content Management System product. It includes combination of HTML pages, images and Flash movies presenting step-by-step how to obtain particular popular product’s features. Technology implemented: Macromedia Dreamwaver, Flash, PhotoShop etc. GORD Systems internal project.
